Meetup Groups meet face-to-face to pursue hobbies, network, get support, make friends, find playgroups or even change the world.
Get on the Internet to get off the Internet!
You'll get invited to our Meetups as soon as they're scheduled!
“ As you walk in the door, I'll be sitting at a table on the right surfing the web on my Mac. If I'm not there, the folks at the front desk will point me out. ”
Same bat time, same bat place but we've changed
the format slightly to broaden the appeal.
In addition to the enduro format on Yokohama, we'll
also be running a three practice format (with breaks)
on Monza. Pick whatever format appeals most.
Either format is $60.
And afterwards the usual post-mortem at the pub...
I'll take a head count at noon on the day and notify GKR to set aside
that many spots. Those spots will be reserved up until 30 mins before
the race at which time unclaimed spots will be released to the general
public or meetup members who didn't originally RSVP Yes.
Some advice for newbies:
If this is your first time, arrive no later than 8.30 p.m. as
you have to fill out your registration and attend a
mandatory driver's meeting.
Remember to wear sensible shoes (no open toes or high heels)
and bring your driver's license.
If you have a helmet, bring it.
If not, no worries - GKR supplies all the equipment you need.
Even if you're super-fit, you'll break a sweat so you might
want to bring a fresh T-shirt to change into.
This is a no-contact sport.
Drivers using excessive contact will be ejected from the event.
Complete newbies are very welcome.
Note that the enduro format can be a bit overwhelming for your
first introduction to karting. If you've not done karting before, I'd
suggest doing the three practice format for the first few meetups
to bring yourself up to speed and acclimatize yourself to the
demands of karting. As a rule of thumb, get your times down to
<28s for Yoko or < 31s for Monza before jumping into an enduro.
Otherrwise, you'll spend most of your time moving over for faster
cars, which is never fun and breaks up your rhythm.
